What’s your favorite part of living in the upstate?
The Upcountry Fiber Art Contest is all about celebrating the communities we serve. It gives people of all ages a fun, creative way to share what they love most about Upstate South Carolina. Whether that’s a place, a moment, or something that feels like home.
Through a variety of styles and mediums, the contest highlights what makes our region special and brings those stories to life in a meaningful, visual way.
Winning submissions will be displayed in our office, featured on our website and social media, and receive a Visa gift card!
Entrant Categories
- Category 1: Ages 3-8
- Category 2: Ages 9-12
- Category 3: Ages 13-17
- Category 4: Ages 18+
Each category will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner.
Submission Guidelines
- Medium: Artists may use crayons, colored pencils, graphite, markers, or paints.
- Size: Entries should be on an 8.5” x 11” sheet (or digital equivalent).
- Theme: Illustrate what you love most about living in the Upstate!
- Originality: All artwork must be original—no tracing or AI-generated submissions.
- By submitting an entry you are giving Upcountry Fiber the right to use your artwork in future projects without compensation or credit.
- Entrants must either live in Pickens county, Spartanburg county, Greenville county, Oconee county, or Anderson county, or be an Upcountry Fiber customer.
Timeline
- Contest Opens: April 15
- Submission Deadline: July 1
- Winners Announced: July 15
- Winners’ Reception: TBD

- 1st Place (Each Age Group)
- $100 gift card
- Featured in our office display and online
- 2nd Place (Each Age Group)
- $50 gift card
- Artwork displayed in our office and online
- 3rd Place (Each Age Group)

- People’s Choice
- One winner per age category, chosen by you!
- Vote on Facebook – entries shared online after the submission deadline
Judging Criteria
- Creativity & originality
- Connection to the theme
- Artistic effort and quality
- Overall impression
Judges will include members of our team and local artists!
How to enter
- Online Entry
- Take a high-quality scan or photo of your artwork.
- We will want to keep a copy of your artwork to hang in our office, so don’t give us the original unless you don’t want it back.
- Submit via our online form below.
